Seasonal Notes

Every season, a different palace

Spring · Mar–May

Cherry blossoms frame Gyeongbokgung's walls — the finest season for hanbok photographs. Peak demand; book early.

Summer · Jun–Aug

An early palace start beats the heat, and on the full day you can cool your feet in the Suseongdong mountain stream.

Autumn · Sep–Nov

Palace courtyards and Seochon's alleyways turn gold — the most photogenic season of the year.

Winter · Dec–Feb

Snow on the palace rooftops is unforgettable and the grounds are quiet; the History Museum anchors the full day indoors.

The Royal Guard Changing Ceremony runs daily at 10:00 & 14:00 (weather permitting). Gyeongbokgung is closed on Tuesdays; Chilgung Shrine is closed Tuesdays & Sundays. On Sundays the Chilgung slot runs as an alternative course — Jogyesa Temple and the Insadong quarter — and your full-day route is arranged around these closures at no extra cost.
